January 2011

Tanner has a favorite playground. There's a set of stairs he can climb on his own and plenty of slides. Plus, there are trees, grass & leaves next to it that he can investigate.

There are a couple of photos of Tanner watching the sunrise and the backyard with me from the back room. It's early, as you can tell from his big yawn. Tanner loves the backyard. This day, he was having fun with water and his NASA cup.

The pictures of Tanner laughing by his crib don't really show the blue foam cylinder (that's good for back stretching) on the floor. He kept cracking up each time I told him not to step on it. He thought it was hilarious. As our daycare provider told us, "Tanner likes to do dangerous things". And as Ben puts it, "Saying 'no' just made it more fun".

December 2010

Tanner had a great time spending Christmas at Grandma Claudia's place. He didn't quite get into the gift unwrapping, since he didn't understand that there were fun toys inside.

Here's a picture of Tanner eating and what he looks like when he's stuffed his cheeks full like the little monkey that his is.

November 2010

I guess November was a uneventful month. Tanner did learn to enjoy baths again, after I got the most elaborate bath toy I could find. And he went on his first carousel ride. He & Ben were the only ones on there (another rainy day) and I think it was a bit strange for him.

No pictures from Thanksgiving, since he picked up a stomach bug from daycare and spent all of Wed night/ Thurs morning throwing up on me. We managed to have Thanksgiving dinner with Claudia, Nick, Daphne & a few friends. Tanner celebrated his first taste of pumpkin pie by immediately projectile vomiting.

October 2010

There were some rainy weekends in Oct and we had to think of new places to take Tanner. He needs to get out of the house at least once, preferably twice, a day. One day we took him to the Musee Mecanique. He was too young to enjoy it completely but he liked being somewhere new. He wasn't sure what to make of the funny mirror.

Tanner & I also got to go to Big Sur with our friends Jack, Allison & Violet, while Ben stayed home to scrape and paint the light well. He loved being outdoors but the 3hr drive was a little rough. It took a lot of snacks to make it through the trip.

Tanner also enjoyed his first Oktoberfest party and slept through Halloween.

Sept 16th - 30th

It's been forever since the last set of pictures. Almost a third of Tanner's life has gone by since! He's bigger, faster and cuter.

Sept 1st - Sept 15th

It was Tanner's 1st birthday!! We celebrated it in LI with all the grandparents and the NY side of the family. Tanner first picked up the calculator, which means he's going to be an engineer or something tech related. He also picked up the golf ball, which means he's going to be good enough to beat his Uncle Rich. And then he picked the rice, which means he'll never go hungry. All good things.

I didn't get the greatest pictures since I was busy with Tanner so if you have some, send them over and I'll post them.
